THE DEBUT PROJECT BY CRAFT-LED ARCHITECT GRAFTED CELEBRATES THE ORIGINAL DETAILING OF A HOUSE IN NORWICH THROUGH CONCRETE PANELS WHICH THE PRACTICE CAST ITSELF.
Grafted were approached by a family looking to replace a poor-quality extension and 'reinvigorate' the existing Victorian house. Delivered as a design + build project their design reorganises the living areas between office space, rest and social areas, bringing in more natural light and includes a rear extension with a geometric precast and brick façade.
Festa were instructed by Grafted for the design, fabrication and installation of the structural glass skylights, minimal sliding doors, glazed pivot door and slim casement windows to holistically integrate into the meticulously crafted envelope of the new extension.
This project highlights the importance of the technical design phase of a project where the corresponding interface details are throughly examined ensuring the end aesthetic meets the demanding project brief.
The photos documented by the talented team at French + Tye demonstrate the attention to detail and artisanal craftsmanship on display with the project being widely documented by leading publications such as The Architects Journal, RIBA Journal, DEZEEN, Arch Daily, Building Design etc
